Beautiful old house, beautiful grounds and lovely rooms. Food was excellent too.
The pool and hot tub were very relaxing and the food was excellent. The bed was very comfortable and I loved the decor of the room and bathroom.
I think the dining room should be where the bar is overlooking the beautiful surroundings on the ground floor instead of being down in the basement. The basement would be much better suited as a bar and would have a much better atmosphere in candlelight.
A wonderful unspoiled Georgian house in tranquil countryside- and good food
the decor and furnishings were great. there was a real sense of quality everywhere- peaceful, friendly and relaxing. this is an old building with great character, well looked after and clean. the breakfast we had was excellent, the dining room is in the basement. The old thick white painted walls and arches contrasted beautifully with contemporary dining chairs and tables and plush carpet, white linen napkins and tall elegant silver coffee pots. The swimming pool and sauna are great as is the outdoor wooden hot-tub.We plan to go back there already. If you're looking for tranquillity this is the place. i didn't get to try dinner in the restaurant but it is the sister restaurant of the famous 'Eden' in Temple bar ,Dublin.
friendly service and design of the building
no guinness on draft
Location, staff,good food,
No slippers in room to visit pool,
The staff were excellent. The surroundings beautiful and the rooms extremely comfortable. The food was very good too.
The only problem I had with Bellinter House is the music. There was no atmosphere. I would definately go back but the dreadful 80's music ruined the ambience.
Staff very helpful and pleasant, food in Eden restaurant excellent
Understaffed, overall hotel rather shabby and many things didnt work correctly eg. internet, television remote control, sauna, long waits at reception desk/bar etc for service.
A beautiful looking hotel, with comfortable (if slightly spartan) rooms. The location is pretty idyllic.
Bit shabbier than we were expecting (although overall a decent hotel).
We both very much enjoyed our stay, we will definitely return staff are very friendly, not intrusive, we loved the location and room was very nice, nice little touches throughout hotel they have everything well though out.. Very nice hotel would definitely recommend it.
A very weathered mansion. Room was very poor and dinner facilities were in the basement.
The main house is full of old world charm and the swimming pool was very enjoyable. What was the highlight for us was the outdoor hot tub with views down to the river Boyne- bliss!
Rooms needed a good dusting and they mentioned countryside walks but we found none. When we asked at reception we found ourselves walking through a field which led to nowhere- it was disappointing as it was one of the reasons why I booked. Also, the Eden restaurant menu strangely had no prices listed, which proved very confusing when we recieved our pricy bill. The restaurant itself has no atmosphere. As its in a basement with no views, they could have at least put some art up on the walls to add some interest and warmth.
My dinner in Eden wasn't great. Pork belly and smokies both very disappointing. Desserts over complicated
The house is beautifull and the park simply wonderfull. Good pool and restaurant too.
Loved the Spa. Loved the size of the bedroom. Dining room very romantic and food in the Eden Dining room was delicious.
Cost of cocktails - €14 for a cosmopolitan was a bit steep in view of our overall spend (€750 for two night stay with spa treatments). Rooms very dark which, while lending to the romantic atmosphere, made it very difficult to read or apply make-up. Also, there were a few problems with our room (not major) which were fixed straight away but shouldn't have arisen; a two night stay shouldn't mean being bothered with fixing lightbulbs and supplying facecloths or sorting bathplug. Also, while dining in Eden restaurant meant delicious food, the bar food left a lot to be desired.
